Loves his girl

Daddy and Lauren

Mike adores Lauren and it is a relationship I don't think he could have ever prepared for or dreamed of. That little girls just thinks the world of her daddy and counts on him and looks up to him and plays with him and LOVES him. She will always take care of him and I tell him that is his ticket out of a nursing home one day.

MORE CANDID SHOTS

For 2011, Mike has asked me to start taking more "candid" shots and not so posed. Well this is what that looks like..............

Basketball 2011

Upward Basketball

Landon and Lauren are both on Upward basketball teams this winter. This is Landon's 3rd season to play and Lauren very first one.Coach Dad and Landon (The Nugget team)

Landon - This year he seems to be playing a little less timid and has made several baskets.

Lauren Lauren has 5 girls on her team (4 on 4). Her 2 good friends (Kirsten Clary and Gentry Baldwin) are also on the team. The first game was one of my most memorable days ever. At the beginning of the game, both teams went down and back on the court and seemed pretty clueless on how the game goes. After a few minutes, a light bulb went off and the girls started getting the gist of the game. It was so sweet to see Lauren hug Gentry after Gentry made a goal and for Lauren to be equally happy for her friends to score as herself. I was sitting under the goal (along side grandparents) and when Lauren made her first goal, she looked right at me with the biggest smile and look of achievement. She ran right over and hugged me and then started to hug each grandparent beside me. After that, she had a "fire" in her eye that I could tell she meant business. It was a great day! It was fun to share with Gentry's whole family because we all know then and they are know us and Lauren.

I will admit that I had given Lauren and Landon some tips from my old playing days since basketball was my pass
ion for many many years. We worked on rebound, fast break, and shooting the ball. I think my lessons paid off (don't tell dad i am taking the credit, after all he is there coach).
